As they were approaching the town of Nain in Galilee Christ and the disciples met a funeral procession. The mother of the dead man was a widow. Moved to pity Christ restored her son to life. Christ is depicted with one hand on the bier, on which the body of the man is raising itself as it comes to life. The mother kneels before Christ. In the background may be seen the gate of the town.
