North transept, altar of Saint Sebastian

For reasons which are not clear, this pillar was known as le pilier vert. Against it is set the altar of Saint Sebastian, protector against plague. The sculpture was done by Nicolas Blasset c.1634. At the top, the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian with allegories of justice and peace. The painting of the Calvary, attributed to the Flemish artist Guillaume Hergosse (1640-1711) is flanked by statues of Saint Roch and Saint Louis.
