Also read *ekimon 掖門. A side gate or a small gate on one or both sides of a large gate used as a service entrance. One example is Taiyūin Reibyō 大猷院霊廟 (mid-17th century) in Nikkō 日光, Tochigi Prefecture, which is a side gate written as ekimon. It has undulating barge boards on the gable ends. It is 1-bay wide and has one entrance. The roof is covered with copper sheeting dōbanbuki 銅板葺.
