chōjōfuku 長条幅

1 A hanging scroll *kakemono 掛物 that is vertically oriented but longer than the normal length of approximately 110-130 cm. Today, generally a scroll that is as long as 170 cm. Many hanging scrolls of this type are used for Southern school paintings *nanga 南画 paintings.
