The movable face plate. The most elaborate gimmick used on the bugaku mask, *bugakumen 舞楽面, *Genjōraku 還城楽, where the eyes, nose, cheeks, and upper lip form a panel which slips under the heavy eyebrows and is secured. As the dancer moves, it bounces slightly. Another structural device, the dangling chin, *tsuriago 吊顎, is also used on the Genjōraku mask.
