Rotating eyes, a gimmick used for many bugaku masks, *bugakumen 舞楽面, including *Ryōō 陵王, *Nasori 納曽利, *Genjōraku 還城楽, and *Saisōrō 採桑老. The eye balls are carved as a lazy figure-eight and then inserted into sockets at the eye area with a skewer that reaches from temple to temple. For all the masks but Saisōrō, the dangling chin, *tsuriago 吊顎, is hung from the dōgan so that as it swings with the movement of the dancer, the eyes also roll up and down.
