Tea Houses

The domed lid of a tea ceremony kettle with an indentation or depressed area around the knob. Sometimes called a fuji 富士 shape. According to the *Chadō sentei 茶道筌蹄 (1816), it harmonizes with Takeno Jōō's 武野紹鴎 (1502-55) koararegama 子霰釜, a kettle decorated with protruding pebble-like bumps, covering the body, but not the lid or bottom.
