Also called iriwadome 入輪留 or eridome 襟留. Lit. collar miter. An angle joint *shiguchi 仕口 used at the inner corner of a building where two non-penetrating tie beams *nageshi 長押 are connected at a right angle. The upper part of the joint has a collar tenon *eriwa 襟輪 while the base of the joint is mitered or is stopped by a flat surface. This angle joint is also made at the inner corners of lintels *kamoi 鴨居 and framing uprights for sliding screens, windows or doors.
