fumikomidoko 踏込床

Also fungomidoko ふんごみ床. An alcove, *tokonoma 床の間, with a board floor at the same level as the mats, *tatami 畳. The frame, *tokogamachi 床框, around the sides of the alcove is omitted. However, the top frame, *otoshigake 落掛, and ceiling are the same as those of a usual raised board floor alcove, *itadoko 板床. Example: Seisonkaku Seikōken Gensōdoko 成巽閣清香軒原叟床, Ishikawa Prefecture.
