Lit. flower raft. A decorative, floral pattern popular in the Momoyama period. The design is said to be derived from a flowering branch floating on water. It is found on decorative metal fittings and lacquered decoration, as for example, on the lacquered stairs and floor of the Buddhist platform *shumidan 須弥壇, in Kōdaiji Mitamaya 高台寺御霊屋.
