hanaranma 花欄間

Also called hanasama ranma 花狭間欄間 or *hanazama 花狭間. A type of transom characterized by panels of openwork *sukashibori 透彫, in floral patterns. This style first appeared in the Muromachi period and later (by the late 16th century) appeared on Chinese style paneled doors *sangarado 桟唐戸.
