hansetsu 半切

Also written 半折 and 半截. A size of paper obtained when full-size paper *zenshi 全紙 is halved vertically, to create a sheet approximately 130 cm by 30 cm. Hansetsu is also used to refer to painting or calligraphy done on this size of paper.
