Also called *hirazonae 平備. A bracket complex *tokyō 斗きょう placed in between the corner bracket complexes *sumisonae 隅備, and the next bracket complex that is parallel to the wall plane. Architectural differences vary according to the style of bracket complexes used. They include: the Japanese style *wayō 和様; the Zen style *zenshūyō 禅宗様; or the daibutsu style *daibutsuyō 大仏様. Wayō of bracket complexes evolved during the 7th-12th century, after which the new styles, daibutsuyō and zenshūyō, were introduced (at the end of the 12th century and beginning of the 13th century).
