Lit. fins. A decorative sculpted form found, for example, on the left and right of a gable pendant *gegyo 懸魚, along a bargeboard, and on both sides of a goblin mask tile *onigawara 鬼瓦 or a bottle-shaped post *taiheizuka 大瓶束. Hire flanking a taiheizuka are known as *taiheibire 大瓶鰭, *gasshōhire 合掌鰭.
