Lit. "fins." A decorative sculpted form found, for example, on the left and right of a gable pendant *gegyo 懸魚 along a bargeboard, and on both sides of a goblin mask tile *onigawara 鬼瓦 or a bottle-shaped post *taiheizuka 大瓶束. Hire flanking a taiheizuka are known as *taiheibire 大瓶鰭, *gasshōbire 合掌鰭.
