Lit. *Amida 阿弥陀 with a Jeweled Crown. A typical representation of Buddha *nyorai 如来 usually does not have a crown, but some Amida images are crowned. Typically, an image of Amida with Red Skin *Guhari-no-Amida 紅玻璃阿弥陀 wears a crown. The hōkan Amida usually sits in the meditation mudra *zenjō-in 禅定印 or more rarely in the preaching mudra *seppō-in 説法印. Well-known examples include the principal image of Amida sanzonzō 阿弥陀三尊像 in Jōkōmyōji 浄光明寺, Kanagawa Prefecture.
