Also known as osaehikinoko 押挽鋸. A thin bladed crosscut saw used to make a plane (see *kanna 鉋). A small, special saw used to cut the slots that house the cutting blade in the sides of a plane block. The saw blade is approximately 20 cm long and only 36 mm wide. The cutting teeth are small and the same as those on an ordinary crosscut saw except that they are sharply raked. Raked teeth allow the saw to cut diagonally across the grain of a piece of wood.
