1 Also called ichimonji nokigawara 一文字軒瓦; ichimonji karakusagawara 一文字唐草瓦. A type of pantile *sangawara 桟瓦, that usually has an undecorated pendant *gatō 瓦当, along the eave edge. The lower edge of the pendant is straight. Ichimonji tiles are frequently utilized for rustic buildings. See *sukiya 数寄屋.

2 Also Ichimonji sodesumigawara 一文字袖隅瓦 (one pattern corner sleeve tile). A plain eave-end tile with a straight-edged bottom used at corners and along the barge course *keraba 螻羽.

3 Tiles used at the top of some fences. One example is *tsuiji 築地.
