Sculpture
The lowest section of a dais *kamachiza 框座 for a Buddhist sculpture that is approximately round and has small indentations around the edge. Because it swells slightly outward between the indented areas, it takes on an octagonal or hexagonal form resembling an abstracted flower. An example is found on the base of the Nyoirin Kannonzō 如意輪観音像 (9th century) at Kanshinji 観心寺 in Osaka.
