2 Abbreviation of hōjō 法帖 the living quarters of the chief priest in Zen Buddhist temples.

3 A unit for counting sheets of paper and other flat materials. One is 48 sheets of *minogami 美濃紙, 20 sheets of *hanshi 半紙, and 10 sheets of dried laver nori 糊.
