kazari busshi 餝仏師

Also shōgon busshi 荘厳仏師. Artists who made metal and jewelled ornaments for Buddhist statues. These ornaments included crowns *hōkan 宝冠, strings of jewels *yōraku 瓔珞 and bracelets *kansen 鐶釧. Kazari busshi formed part of a team of specialists working in Buddhist sculpture workshops *bussho 仏所 established in the 11th century and active until the 19th century.
