3 The part of a wooden frame used to support the heavily plastered windows or doors of a storehouse *dozō 土蔵. In the case of windows the term madokigara 窓木柄 is used. For both windows and doors, the top and bottom rails are called kigarakamachi 木柄框. A penetrating tie minonuki 蓑貫 about 6 cm wide is used on the storehouse door (braces *sujikai 筋違 are also used) to form a framework backing for the plaster. The skilled workmen who construct the frames are called kigaraya 木柄屋.
