1 The end of the handle of a tea scoop *chashaku 茶杓. Various styles include: square cut, shihōkiri oroshi 四方切下し; four sides chamfered, shihōkiri mentori 四方切面取; and half moon chamfered ending with a joint. There is a difference between the styles on the ends of a tea ceremony ladle when used for a portable hearth or a permanent sunken hearth. The former is cut diagonally on the inside and the latter is cut diagonally on the side. In both cases, the end of the handle is cut at a right angle to the rest of the handle.
