Kumogata hijiki 雲形肘木. A cloud-patterned bracket arm that is characterized by a somewhat complicated decorative shape. The pattern is thought also to resemble a dragon form. The bracket arm is found only in Nara, on Hōryūji *Kondō 法隆寺金堂, *Chūmon 中門, and *Gojū-no-tō 五重塔 on the *Tamamushi no zushi 玉虫厨子 and on Hokkiji *Sanjū-no-tō 法起寺三重塔. The original Hōrinji Sanjū-no-tō 法輪寺三重塔 also had this type of bracket arm, and this is employed on the newly reconstructed pagoda.
