Lit. "husband and wife windows"; double windows. A type of window used in a tea ceremony house *chashitsu 茶室. Two windows of the same type, one small and the other large. They are either arranged horizontally or vertically. Also called nirensō 二連窓 or *rensōmado 連双窓.
