Also mitsuki 見附.

1 A structural member, or a part of one, seen from the front. For example, the mullions *kumiko 組子, of sliding doors *shōji 障子. Also the size or measurement of large chamfers, ōmentori 大面取, cut on the corners of a square structural member when viewed from the front. The chamfers cause the pillar faces to appear a little narrower. This reduced visible width is known as mitsukihaba 見附幅.
