Also osagomai or usakomai 小狭小舞; 小来舞. Four slender wooden members, square at their inner ends, and circular toward their outer ends that project to the right and left each side of the upper most part of the bargeboard on shinmei type *shinmei-zukuri 神明造, buildings. Their tips reach as far as the end of the long thin boards which are laid just below the peak of the roof on both sides. They are no longer functional, but merely decorative. It is conjectured that these may represent a form of lath *komai 小舞, once used between rafters and roof sheathing in the prehistoric age. Examples: All buildings in the yuitsu shinmei style *yuitsu shinmei-zukuri 唯一神明造 at Ise Jingū 伊勢神宮 in Mie Prefecture.
