Also called sobanoki 傍軒. Also called raking beams. The inclined eaves along the edge of the bargeboards *hafu 破風 of a hip-and-gable roof *irimoya yane 入母屋屋根 or along the sloping ends of a gable roof *kirizuma yane 切妻屋根. If the roofing is made of cypress bark *hiwadabuki 桧皮葺, finely layered shingles *kokerabuki 柿葺 or thatch *kayabuki 茅葺, it is usually applied thickly when raking eaves. This part of the roof is called noborinokizuke 登軒付, or nokizuke 軒付.
