Also noura-ita 野裏板, *no-ita 野板. Sheathing that is placed over the rafters *taruki 垂木 in a hidden roof *noyane 野屋根. The boards are not visible, and therefore, left unplaned. If the interiorof a building is open to the underside of the roof, the sheathing and rafters are both visible. In this case the sheathing is called keshō noji 化粧野地.
