Also read ōmunekado. A large gate that is similar to another type of gate called *munamon 棟門. However, instead of the single entrance used on munamon has three. The main gate is at the center and is closed with a pair of large hinged doors. On either side is a smaller gate, that also has hinged doors. The three openings are linked by a single lintel. The ōmunamon has a gabled roof *kirizuma yane 切妻屋根, with bargeboards *hafu 破風. Decorative metal fittings are used for the hinges and at the junction point of the pillars and lintels.
