A stone pagoda with an egg-shaped main body placed directly on a base. It differs from the *muhōtō 無縫塔 in not having a shaft with seat and cup-like, lotus petal form into which the egg-shape is placed. Instead it sits on top of stylized lotus base. Example: Sangen-in Kaisan Rantō 三玄院開山卵塔 (Muromachi period) Kyoto.
