Tea Houses
Sen no Rikyū's 千利休 (1522-91) writings concerning measurements for tea ceremony utensils. Yamada Sōhen 山田宗へん (1627-1708) edited two volumes of Rikyū's writings and published them in 1702. The first describes tea ceremony houses and tea ceremony tool making. The second explains the proper arrangement of gardens surrounding tea ceremony houses and tea ceremony utensils. These volumes are among the oldest on these subjects.
