Lit. "abbreviated gooseneck joint." An elongated halving joint. The desired length of timber is cut in half lengthwise. The exterior sides are left smooth and the interior side of each piece is cut with slanted surfaces. One piece is the reverse of the other so that they can be joined. The simplest example is the okkaketsugi 追掛継, which does not have pins inserted.
