1 Triple shelves. Shelves which now are rarely seen in a tea ceremony room except at Nishihonganji Tekisuien Gyōkatei 西本願寺滴翠園澆花亭 in Kyoto. There are positioned rear the host's mat temaeza 点前座. The top shelf is 60.6 cm x 36 cm, the middle shelf is 42 cm x 36 cm and the bottom shelf is 30 cm x 24 cm. The space between the uppermost and middle shelf is 27 cm and between the middle and lowest one is 18 cm. A slender piece of bamboo is used to hang the top and middle shelves, but the lowest shelf is attached to and rests on the base strip hikigi 引木. There is also a finishing board at the bottom of the sleeve wall *sodekabe 袖壁.
2 A movable set of shelves which has three shelves above a bottom board that sits directly on the floor. Said to have been a favorite of Sen no Rikyū 千利休 (1522-91).
