Lit. "three, four, five." A large size right-angled carpenter's square, ōgane 大矩, with a ratio of 3:4:5 cm. The two parts that form the right angle may be the same length or of different lengths. The outer points are connected to form the hypotenuse. Thus, the two parts that form the right angle are designated 3 三 and 4 四, and the hypotenuse is designated as 5 五.
