1 The pyramidal shaped top of a post on the handrail of a wooden bridge. If there is only a heavy base edging *jifuku 地覆 on a veranda, the posts are heavy and short with a pyramidal top. This is also called a *sarugashira 猿頭. See *men 面.
2 A fived-sided handrail *kōran 高欄 on a wooden bridge: the top is peaked, with straight sides and a flat base.
