Also called wakiku 脇区. The borders on the ends of the pendants *gatō 瓦当 attached to broad concave eave end tiles *nokihiragawara 軒平瓦. These ends may contain a continuation of a bead pattern *shumon 珠文, a zigzag or saw tooth pattern *kyoshimon 鋸歯文, or it may be plain.
