Roofing Tiles
A decorative motif used on the roof of a Japanese building. It consisted of a series of single petals with one leaf seedling added to each petal. It was used on the pendants *gatō 瓦当 of eave-end, semi-cylindrical tiles, especially during the 7th-11th century.
