Roofing Tiles
1 A generic term for roof tiles used in the valley of a roof. Valleys are formed when the ridges of two sections of roofs meet at an angle, usually at right angle. If the valley tiles are V-shaped in cross section, they are called taniutsubo 谷靫.
2 The concave curve at the lower, outer end of an undulating gable *karahafu 唐破風 type roof. The gable is called a valley. Also called tanisumimune 谷隅棟 (valley corner ridge).
