Also called sukebari. A beam which stabilizes bottle struts *taiheizuka 大瓶束 or rainbow beams *kōryō 虹梁 on the gable *tsuma 妻 of a hip-and-gable roof *irimoya yane 入母屋屋根. The backing is constructed by placing a strut *tsuka 束 on a beam which is then set across the insert purlins *sashimoya 指母屋 behind the rainbow beam, in the gable of a hip-and gable roof. Bottle or other struts are attached to the strut on the tasukebari by means of a plug called hanasen 鼻栓.
