Also called tatehonshigesan 竪本繁桟, tatehonshigesankumi 竪本繁桟組; tateshigekumi 竪繁組. Closely-spaced vertical muntins. Vertical muntins with greater than normal space between them are called yokoshige 横繁. Examples are found in tateshige koshidaka shōji 竪繁腰高障子 and in tateshige akarishōji 竪繁明障子.
