Also written 天具帖, 天宮上, 天久常. Fine Japanese paper made from high quality fibers (see *choshi 楮紙). Strong and pliable, with a beautiful white color. Used to wrap valuables, and as paper placed between printed art objects to protect them, hedategami 隔紙. Made in the Mino 美濃 region (now Gifu Prefecture) since the Kamakura period, and also produced in Tosa 土佐 (now Kōchi Prefecture) since the Meiji period.
