Boards or tiles, tsukenoshi, set above and below the thick boards *aori-ita 障泥板 down which rain is carried off from the ridge *munagi 棟木 to prevent leaking. Also, a board called komabitai 駒額 is placed above the peak of a gable, but beneath the ogre tile plate *oni-ita 鬼板, to prevent leakage.
