Enclosed inner mould. The *nakago 中型 was a term used in metal casting for an inner core of clay used together with an outer clay mould. The molten metal was poured into a space between the two moulds. If both moulds were removed after cooling, the statue was hollow. However, the inner core was sometimes left, as it was inside the metal statue. In this case it was called tsutsumi nakago.
