Lit. "mountain eye pounding and inserting piling." A dry construction method used to pile stones for a stone wall *ishigaki 石垣. This wall is classified by the five yin-yang elements and the tree god mokujin 木神. It also represents the azure dragon of the east. The technique involves piling fan-shaped rocks on their sides with their faces left in a natural, unhewn condition. Seen from afar, the wall's workmanship appears rough, though in fact it is very intricate and durable. Considered appropriate for mountain castles.
