Also kobanekugi 小羽根釘. Small round bamboo roofing nails, with a diameter between 2.1 to 2.8 mm and a length from 50 to 100 mm, used to attach timber sheathing to the roof framework. The sheathing provides a base to spread clay for setting tile roofing *kawarabuki 瓦葺, or attaching shingles, *kokerabuki 柿葺 or *hiwadabuki 桧皮葺.
