An especially impressive front gate or entry. Examples are *hirakaramon 平唐門 or *shikyakumon 四脚門, four-legged gates with undulating bargeboards on the gable ends, for example; Myōshinji Gyokuhōin 妙心寺玉鳳院 (1409) Bishō-an Zenmon 微笑庵前門 in Kyoto.
