The Sainte Chapelle was built on the Ile-de-la-Cite in
Paris between 1243-1248 to house Christ's Crown of Thorns
whch King Louis IX purchased from the Byzantine emperor.
It is divided into a lower chapel and an upper chapel.
The upper chapel is composed almost entirely of stained
glass. |
