Dynamic Geometry
- Mark out a central square of 50 feet.
- Divide the central square into 2 parts.
- Find the diagonal of the half square.
- Rotate it-
- and project it out to create a second square.
- The relationship of inner and outer squares is in the order of the Golden Section. This gives the central extended crossing space.
- Rotate the great square at 45 degrees-
- and project it to the west.
- The diagonal gives the length of the nave.
- The space of each transept arm equals on half of the great central square.
- Rotate the great central square-
- project to the east.
- The diagonal gives the width, and the half diagonal gives the lenght of the choir.
- The hemicycle is formed inside a great circle having a center point c2.5m east of the rectangular body of the choir.
