Amiens Cathedral, Choir from south east

As we move around the choir the upper south transept begins to emerge. It was in this area that Master Renaud de Cormont made his first architectural experiments (c.1250) in his search to develop new forms for the upper choir. Note that the upper windows of the transept are not yet crowed with gables.
