Amiens Cathedral

Amiens Cathedral, Choir from south east

Here you get the best view of the entire sequence of choir chapels on the south side: from right to left, Notre-Dame de la Drapière, Saint James, Saint Nicaise and Saint Eloi.
The presence of James (relic of the saint's chin) locates Amiens as a point on the Road to Santiago de Compostela; he is clearly a saint of international importance. The following two saints tie Amiens more closely to local roots: Nicaise had been archbishop of Reims and Eloi was bishop of Noyon. You can see a statue of the saint sitting on top of his chapel.
